It has really been 15 years since Liz Phair released her legendary Exile in Guyville album. Phair has spent the last couple of years collecting paydays writing music for unicorn shampoo commercials and teen melodramas. She is now ready to take another shot at legitimacy.

On June 24th, the Exile in Guyville special edition reissue will be released. Guyville Redux will be out on CD, vinyl and (the unheard of in 1993) digital format. The ‘you’ll only watch once’ dvd included will have interviews with the main players of the early 90’s Chicago indie scene, producers and label folks.

Today also brings news that Phair will take the show on the road and perform Exile in Guyville in its entirety at NYC’s Hiro Ballroom (June 25th) and Chicago and San Francisco (dates TBA). Don’t get your hopes up, after the Guyville hubbub dies down and the shows are over, Phair goes right back to the “new” stuff.
