Preston School of Industry to Return
Friday, May 9th , 5:50 PM
![]() When Pavement split up, Steve Malkmus got the attention and Spiral Stairs got to keep his cool name. Scott Kannberg (aka Spiral Stairs) formed the Preston School of Industry after Pavement dissolved. The band has periodically released albums (2001 and 2004) and disappear. Mr. Stairs have announced plans for another reemergence in 2008. all has been quiet on the psoi front... until now! a new record is in the works, hopefully done by the end of spring, a new website (still working on it, obviously), and the most exciting of all... we're playing shows again! we've been asked to support the posies for their 20th anniversary show in seattle may 17th. we're excited, since we still like the posies very much (even if the drummer is a weird rush fan). we're also playing a bunch of new songs... as well as some old family favorites, Kannberg said on the PSOI website. Kannberg also mentioned that PSOI is doing a collaboration with members of the Broken Social Scene. More details to come but since there are approximately 200 members of BSS, everybody who is even just Canadian could say that theyre collaborating with them.
